Professional experience
I combine two decades of sales and service experience with an innate passion and knack for instructional design and project management, delivering measurable results that transform global learning programs within time and budget constraints. I tools and modalities based on what works best for your goals, not trends or tradition.
I specialize in end-to-end course and curriculum development, taking a holistic approach that balances instructional design, project management, and process optimization. My expertise is in start-ups and process standardization, delivering scalable, efficient training solutions. Currently, I serve as Senior Instructional Designer and Developer with Apple Ads, supporting the Global Sales Team for the App Store.
At Apple, I am the sole instructional designer responsible for all ID work from start to finish, including interviewing and managing contractors. I analyze individual course content within larger curricula all departmental roles, helping the L&D team determine the best modalities for learners in conjunction with available time to maximize efficiency. I follow the ADDIE process to create courses, using Captivate, and I operate with the philosophy that ADDIE starts with E. I am a natural project manager, both within L&D and across other initiatives. I plan and execute projects with precision, accurately estimating task durations, allocating SME and personal resources by the hour, and providing reliable time forecasts. I work closely with our measurement strategist to ensure we are measuring learning outcomes through Level 4 whenever possible, or following the Kirkpatrick model. In 2025, these methods reduced our training time by 20 percent while increasing quality. I have helped global insurance, tech, and healthcare companies transition from in-person and virtual instructor-led training to blended eLearning programs, assessing materials and processes at a high level to determine whether content should be developed as individual courses or integrated curricula. I also manage implementations of Learning Management Systems, Knowledge Centers, and CMS platforms, including Salesforce.
Previously, I built a robust training department for an insurance start-up, acting as trainer, instructional designer, eLearning developer, and project manager. My foundation in service, sales, claims, and compliance, including eight years in the call center, gives me a unique perspective. I develop training as if I were performing the role myself.
With experience across retail, restaurants, and universities, I understand frontline challenges and how to de-escalate complex situations. I have created job aids, employee manuals, and customized diagrams, always aiming to improve learning outcomes, operational efficiency, and measurable results.
Education
I earned a B.S. in Interpretive Biology and Natural History from Frostburg State University, with a goal to become a wildlife educator. After graduation, I declined offers for graduate studies in wildlife to gain practical work experience and clarify my career path.
I embarked on a journey across the country, eventually settling in Philadelphia. I had two job offers: one as a part-time Educator at the Camden, NJ Aquarium and the other for a full-time position in the call center at Petplan Insurance. Choosing Petplan altered the trajectory of my career. I began as a trainee in this startup and eventually led the entire education department, focusing on technology and performance enhancement.
Over the past decade, I obtained multiple certifications from the Association for Talent Development, including Master eLearner, Storyline, and Project Management. To expand my knowledge, I also pursued graduate-level courses in Instructional Design at the University of South Florida. I remain committed to continuous learning and skill refinement, dedicating weekly time to enhance my abilities. Instructional Design and Project Management isn't just a job; it's a lifestyle and a passion for me.
